This section contains answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our resort. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Please pack light and bring your own: toiletries, towels, raincoat, long socks/leech socks, sturdy shoes for hiking, slippers, any medication, long-sleeved shirt and track bottoms, mosquito repellent, sunscreen cream and if you are going on a fishing trip, please pack your own gear and lures.
At night the temperature is average around 20-22 Celsius. Kindly bring a Jacket or sweater as it can be cold during the rainy season especially in the early morning and at night
The currency in Malaysia is Ringgit Malaysia. Belum Eco resort in located a private island in Belum Temenggor Forest, there are no ATM machine facilities within 40km. Once at the resort, any transactions must be made by cash.
There is no safe box facilities at the resort
Electricity is generated by the Solar Panel system @ work for 24 hours.
there are electrical points in the chalets!
Internet connection is available only in the common area and the signal is not as good as if compared to the city. Maxis and Celcom both have connection in this area.
Mosquitoes netting is fix for all chalets.
The resort also use fogging machines to spray for mosquitoes when there is no visitor coming to the island.
But is advisable to bring mosquito repellent for your outdoor activities
The resort has strict cleaning procedures, follows government SOP, and offers safe dining protocols like separate tables, and buffet line rotations. The staffs are fully vaccinated, wearing mask and taking extra precautions for safety. The resort is committed to ensuring a secure environment for guests.
The toilet is next to the balcony. The toilet is located behind your chalet.
Kindly bring a foldable umbrella as the toilet/bathroom is behind your room and next to the balcony, it might get wet when going out there if it's raining. And the chalet is far away from the main hall and dining area. However, the resort does not provide basic toiletries and amenities.
No. we don't provide any hairdryer. The power switch socket in the room can be used for charging hand-phones but is not for other electric equipment.

Tea/coffee available throughout the day. Afternoon tea and cake/biscuits also provided. We are offering a sale for soft drinks on the island
All food prepared with pork free but no halal certificate. As advised by Restaurant/Kitchen, all chicken and lamb are bought from Malay store in the Gerik town wet market.
Swimming in the cold clean dam, fishing, canoeing, bird watching....Put on the life jacket at all times during water sports & boat ride. You can bring your own fishing rods and baits to do fishing in the resort areas.
For safety purposes, guests are advised follow the management’s instructions
Rafflesia is a genus of parasitic flowering plants in the family Rafflesiaceae. It contains approximately 28 species, all found in Southeast Asia, mainly in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
You may have chances to spot the famous Rafflesia flower. The Rafflesia is one of the biggest flowers in the World and a plant with very peculiar characteristics and life cycle. They follow irregular patterns. Therefore, it’s hard to predict when there are bigger chances to see the flowers open and fresh. However, it certainly won’t be the only natural attraction you will get to see on your path. So prepare to be amazed by the richness and diversity of the rain forest and its enormous various plant and flower species.
You may able to see the rafflesia flower in its early stages if it wasn’t near blooming time.
But not sure if can see fully bloom as is take 9 months to glow but only last for 4-5 days as advised by local tour guide. This Rafflesia is very sensitive if any one touch the flower bud it will die off.
As you need to take boat is better to take sport bag or small trolley bag.
We do not provide kettle. Recommend to bring water bottles. We do provide water dispenser for you to refill the water. It is located at Main Hall.
All of our chalets are closed to the main hall/lobby are Twin Sharing Chalets.
For jungle trekking and visiting the waterfall, you must trek for about an hour into the deep jungle.
Waterfall's trek is about 1-hour walk one way, and one has to walk past 2 streams and boulders, some part of the path is steep around 40 degrees.
Elderly guests with knee pain and walking difficulty are definitely not recommended. Otherwise, all are well come to join.
There is much leech during the rainy season compared to the sunny day.
Please wear long pants, hiking shoes, & leech socks (or long, thick socks). Bring insect repellent, cover up with long-sleeved shirts & closed-toe shoes. Tuck pants into socks to protect the skin.
As per the General Guide on Tourism Tax from Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
Only Malaysian and Permanent Residents with MyPR cards are exempted from Tourism Tax.
EXEMPTION FROM TOURISM TAX
23. Under paragraph 2 of the Tourism Tax (Exemption) Order 2017, the following tourists are exempted from the payment of the whole of TTx when they stay at any accommodation on the premise in Malaysia:
a) a tourist who is a Malaysian national; and
b) a tourist who is a permanent resident of Malaysia. (holds MyPR card)
A work permit holder/Employment Pass will be required to pay for the Tourism Tax.
Please note: The Malaysia tourism tax of RM10 per room per night for 2024 (for all foreign passport holders for hotel stays), should be collected during reservation time.
If it falls with 15-30 days we should only refund 50%, otherwise we must give full refund less Exchange losses and 4%possession fees !
We get Henry to change the rules to cancellation after paid confirmation to be 50%, and within 14 days of of arrival no refund.
Any cancellation made within 14 days from the arrival date will not be refunded.
Cancellations made between 15 days to 30 days from the arrival date will be refunded half of the total payment.
If cancel the booking and inform the resort of more than 30 days will be refunded full of the total payment in Malaysia Ringgit less the 4% processing fee
No refund will be made for any part of the services included in the package that was not utilized by guests
Reservation & Payment Question

At the time of booking, full payment for your entire stay will be charged. We accept bank transfer, Master and Visa card.
The minimum number of nights is 2
Any cancellation made within 14 days from the arrival date will not be refunded. Besides, Cancellation made between 15-30 days from the arrival date will be refunded half of the total payment. There will be no refund will be made for any part of the service included in the package that was unused.
Belum Eco Resort offers 12 individual chalets that each comfortably fit 2 people. We offer double or twin beds upon availability.
All lodgings have mattress/tatami, pillows, blanket, bed sheets, ceiling fans, toilets and warm water showers. All accommodations have a balcony which faces the majestic lake. Electricity is generated by diesel engine, and only available between in the evening until late morning.
